The RYBA Program not only strengthens the youth's concept of baseball, but additionally aids in preparing coaches. Volunteer Head and Assistant coaches every year are needed to ensure Russellville Youth are given a chance to play the great game of Baseball. Our Training Program removes the burden of developing practices and aids in teaching Coaches from the experienced to beginners.

RYBA is a volunteer association and relies entirely on volunteers to coach, repair fields, make improvements, market, gather sponsors, and all other tasks. Support is needed to ensure the development of our Youth so that as a community, children are given every opportunity to further their baseball past RYBA.

All families are invited to any meeting of the board that are announced via Russellville Youth Baseball Facebook page. Please follow!

Q&A:

WHY RYBA?

We are committed to develop River Valley Youth Baseball by giving each child and coach the tools needed to succeed. Practices are tailored to teach skills not only in games but ways to continue development at home. For Coaches, we remove all barriers (i.e. shirt orders, practice plans, equipment, donations, etc..) and allow more time to focus on the development of teams/players. Our participation numbers allow for the ability to play all games at Hickey Park preventing travel. Facilities are top notch and continue to be improved.

HOW WILL WE PRACTICE?

Overall, we will allow the coach to identify times for practice that are best for them with the exception of couple of weeks. The first week of the season (March 18th) for ages 7-12 will be used as a tryout/clinic for our youth. This allows us to gauge players abilities, teach drills for the child to work on at home, and to align with our coaches. Once the Draft (March 16th) is completed, you will practice with your team and your team only. Our plan is to utilize Monday-Friday days during March for teams to practice, and alternate Mondays during the season for teams that need locked in times. This is subject to change on the numbers of teams participating.

PRICING OF YOUR PROGRAM?

Our program by numbers averages 13-16 practices and 9-12 games per season. This averages to approximately $3.00 - $4.30 per experience with RYBA. To run a program, you must rely on volunteers and community to ensure success. Each year RYBA raises money by fundraising camps and tournaments with volunteers. We seek out donations during the season for sponsors. Our prices are competitive with surrounding communities in the River Valley and allow Coaches/Parents the time to focus on baseball versus requiring working concession stands, gates, fundraising, or donations.

WHY IS RYBA DEVELOPING RYBA TRAVEL?

We have seen our numbers from ages 8-14 years old drastically reduce by over 100 the past 5 years. Each year RYBA loses good coaches, players, and families to travel baseball. We can offer a professional program for fractions of the cost that we believe will keep them in RYBA. Travel ball naturally weeds out families by charging $800 -$1,800 per season. We believe RYBA’s travel program can provide a competitive environment while still keeping all kids on the field to see who continues to develop.  RYBA League coaches will have more time to work with players in smaller groups to increase reps as Travel ball will practice separate on most occasions. Travel teams will consist of RYBA players that will be split evenly into each team to ensure quality competition. No City league team will play a Travel team.

HOW CAN I HELP?

We need Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Umpires, Board Members, and League Commissioners. Everything this organization is can only be measured by the individuals volunteering. Be involved, the kids deserve your and our best. Speak to a board member on ways you can be utilized.

What Is RYBA

RYBA is an incorporated Non-Profit organization. It is an initiative to focus and maximize baseball resources in the River Valley.

RYBA is not a typical league, it is the only baseball association in the River Valley that has incorporated a complete training and development program including support for new and experienced coaches. Our training and development program is designed, supported, and managed by former players with professional baseball experience.
